Govt to consult public on obscenity law (17:11)
The government plans to consult the public later this year on possible changes to the obscenity law. It started reviewing the ordinance following the publication last year of peep photos of pop star Gillian Chung. The issue of obscenity has come to the fore again this year, following the placing of indecent pictures of several stars on the interent. A group called the I.T. Alliance for the Protection of Internet Freedom today met government officials in charge of the review. The group convenor, Samson Tam, said the law could be made much clearer.
